Brown with Just a Bit of Blue

My card for you today is shades of brown with just a bit of blue, and I love how the two colors contrast.

            Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Curly Cute
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Versamark
Ink: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Clear embossing powder, brayer, sponge, Elegant Lines embossing folder,
Designer Frames embossing folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Extra-large
Oval Punch, Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon, Self adhesive pearl, glue dots

The base is Crumb Cake cardstock. I created the main cardfront panel in two pieces. The top is Very Vanilla cardstock embossed using the Elegant Lines embossing folder. The bottom panel was created using emboss resist. I clear embossed the swirls from the Everything Eleanor set on Very Vanilla cardstock, then brayered Chocoate Chip ink to cover the panel, so all the areas without embossing picked up the ink, and the embossed areas stayed Vanilla. At the join of these two panels I added a strip of Bashful Blue punched with the Scalloped Dotted Ribbon border, and a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. The central element is also a stamp in the Everything Eleanor set. I stamped it in Soft Suede on vanilla cardstock, cut it out and embossed it with a Designer Frames folder. Then I sponged it a bit with Chocolate Chip ink to make the embossing stand out. The greeting is from Curly Cute, stamped in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla and punched out with the Extra-Large Oval punch. I stamped the small flower from Everything Eleanor twice on Bashful Blue cardstock with Soft Suede ink. Then I cut out both flowers, adhered them with a glue dot, added a self adhesive pearl to the center, crumbled them to give the flower some dimension and attached them to the card with another glue dot.

  1. Super cute card, Trina. I am glad you explained how you made the bottom half of the card. It looks like designer paper but richer colors.
