Reason to Smile CAS card

I have a CAS (Clean and Simple) card for you today. This card is made with the Reason to Smile stamp set.

Stamps: Reason to Smile. Petite Pairs
Paper: Marina Mist, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Marina Mist DSP
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Lucky Limeade marker
Accessories: Lucky Limeade bakers' twine, blender pen

The base is Marina Mist. I stamped a flower image from the Reason to Smile set twice on Whisper White cardstock in Not Quite Navy ink, colored the stem in with the fine tip of a Lucky Limeade marker and used a Blender Pen and Marina Mist ink to color the flower. The greeting, from Petite Pairs, is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I added a strip of Marina Mist designer paper to the bottom and some Lucky Limeade bakers' twine. That is then mounted on Lucky Limeade cardstock. That's all attached on the base.

I used the coordinating stamp from Petite Pairs to stamp the card liner, added a strip punched with the Scallop Trim border punch and a bit of Lucky Limeade designer paper. This created a quick but pretty inside for the card.

This seven-piece stamp set "Reason to Smile" is available this month only. Best of all, you can get it for only $5 with any $50 purchase (wood or clear mount).  Everything used to create this card is available from Stampin' Up! Morning Cup Get Well Card

Hey, I'm back! Three posts already this week, maybe I will finally be shaking the mothballs off my poor blog! Here is a fun Get Well card for you today! I made it for this week's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

The base is Crumb Cake. I added another Crumb Cake layer on top of that, this one embossed with the Stripes embossing folder. I used the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet die and cut out the largest doily from Baja Breeze cardstock. I used one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits to cut the edges of a strip of Soft Suede cardstock and a piece of designer paper from the Floral District pack, then layered them and adhered them over the bottom half of the doily. Next a piece of Soft suede taffeta ribbon was tied around the card. I cut out a 2" Very Vanilla circle using the Circles #2 Bigz die and stamped the image in Black Stazon onto the circle. Both the teapot and image and the "perk up" greeting are from the Morning Cup set. I colored the teapot using a blender pen and Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso inks. Then I sponged all around the edge of the circle with Soft Suede ink. I stamped the "get well soon" greeting in Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, and punched it out twice using the Decorative Label punch to get this label shape. For a tutorial on how to create this label shape, please see this post on my blog. http://mnfroggie.blogspot.com/2011/05/polka-dots-toile-and-tutorial-for.html This label was then sponged with Soft Suede ink and attached using Dimensionals to a 3/4" Soft Suede Circle.  Super Duper pretty, I hope you think so too!

Christmas in July

Hi Stampers, I have a Christmas card for you today! Are you wondering why I would be making a Christmas card here in the middle of summer? Well, I send out almost 200 handmade Christmas cards each year, so it is never too early to start.

            Stamps: Easy Events

Paper: Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer DSP
            Ink: Black Stazon, Gumball Green
Accessories: Blender Pen, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Gumball Green Satin
Stitched Ribbon, 2-1/2" Circle punch, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch, Scallop
                    edge punch, Dimensionals

This card is simple but fun! The base is Crumb Cake cardstock, with a piece of Gumball Green satin stitched ribbon tied all the way around it. I used the Scallop Edge punch on a little strip of Gumball Green cardstock and attached that to the bottom of some striped designer paper from the Be of Good Cheer paper pack. I stamped the image from the Easy Events stamp set on Very Vanilla in Black Stazon and colored it with Gumball Green ink and a blender pen and added Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on the berries. I punched that image out with a 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch and matted it with a 2-1/2" Gumball Green circle, then attached it to the card front with Dimensionals. Viola, hope you like it!

Happy Hour Birthday Card

Hi Stampers! Here is a fun birthday card!

                Stamps: Happy Hour
Paper: Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Versamark
Accessories: Scallop Trim border punch, Itty Bitty punch pack, Dazzling Details,
                            White Organdy ribbon
                Techniques: Marker to stamp

I stamped the Raspberry Ripple base with the Cheers! stamp using Versamark to create a fun background. The Lucky Limeade strip is punched with Scallop Trim border punch. I added Whisper White Organza ribbon around the card. I colored the images with Raspberry Ripple and Pretty in Pink markers and stamped them on Whisper White. Then I stamped a little Lucky Limeade drink umbrella. That image is matted with Raspberry Ripple and Pretty in Pink layers and adhered to the card. I added the greeting on a little banner that I attached with a glue dot and used the Itty Bitty punch pack to create a Pretty in Pink flower with a little Dazzling Details in the center for some fun sparkle!

A Week of Retiring Stamps - Day 7- Goodbye to Uncharted Territory

Here is my last card for the week of retiring stamps.

It uses the beautiful sketched stamp set, Uncharted Territory. For this card, I used the lighthouse image and stamped it on Very Vanilla with Early Espresso. I added a little Soft Suede ink with a blender pen to shade the lighthouse. Then I stamped the image on a post it note, cut it out and used that as a mask to cover the lighthouse.  I used a torn post it note, sponge and Not Quite Navy ink to create the sky around the masked image. The images is matted on a piece of Early Espresso cardstock. The card base is Not Quite Navy, and I added designer paper from the Well Worn paper pack and Cajun Craze cardstock on the top. The Cajun Craze panel was embossed using one of the plates from the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates. I added a little strip of Not Quite Navy and wrapped it with Early Espresso Baker's Twine. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. This set has a greetings for a lot of different occasions, so it would be easy to change this card to something like a birthday card. It was punched out using the Decorative Label Punch. To see how to make this shape from the Decorative Label punch, see this post on my blog. http://mnfroggie.blogspot.com/2011/05/polka-dots-toile-and-tutorial-for.html

A Week of Retiring Stamps - Day 6 - Goodbye to Nature's Nest

My card for today uses a stamp from Nature's Nest, which is a set with beautifully drawn images of things found in nature. I love this little turtle, isn't he adorable!

I stamped the turtle image on Very Vanilla in Black Stazon,  then stamped it again on Always Artichoke. I cut the shell part of the image out of the Artichoke. I colored the turtle's head and legs with a Sahara Sand marker, and attached the shell onto the image.  The greeting is from Sincere Salutations. I spritzed the image panel with a Chocolate Chip marker and the color spritzer tool.  For the panel underneath, I ran it halfway through my Crimper, punched a hole in it and added a bit of twill tape. then I sponged the entire thing with Chocolate Chip ink. I punched out a Scalloped Dotted Ribbon Border and cut it in half length-wise and attached it to the bottom of the Artichoke panel.  Then I attembled it all on a Chocolate Chip card base.

A Week of Retiring Stamps - Day 5 - Goodbye to Fox & Friends

Here's a cute little card for you today. It's a perfect card for a new baby, but you could change the greeting and easily make it into a young child's birthday card.

This layout is inspired by a card from the talented Mary Fish. I cut five 1"x4" strips of Nursey Nest designer paper and attached them to a Pear Pizzazz card base. The monkey images are from the Fox & Friends stamp set, and are stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White. That panel is on an extra wide mat of Blushing Bride Cardstock. I tied Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding Ribbon around one end. I used the Pinking Hearts border punch on a small strip of Early Espresso Textured Cardstock, and tucked that under the main panel. The greeting, from A Word for You stamp set, is stamped on Marina Mist in Espresso ink.

On the inside, I used Early Espresso ink and textured paper, the Pinking Hearts border punch and Nursery Nest designer paper again. The greeting is from Curvy Verses.
